Historic city centre
In the heart of Venlo lies a historic city centre full of charm, surrounded by greenery. Stroll past centuries-old façades, explore hidden alleyways like the Floddergats, and admire the striking town hall from the sixteenth century. Picturesque Arcen
Arcen is a historic village where you can still sense its roots as a fortified town. On sunny days, the cosy square comes alive with locals and visitors enjoying the riverside views. Take a seat on a terrace and treat yourself to a scoop of Clevers’ delicious ice cream. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, and full of character. Just outside the centre, the Castle Gardens offer a peaceful escape surrounded by flowers and fountains. Arcen invites you to slow down and enjoy the good life.


Monastery village Steyl
This unique village took shape in the late nineteenth century, when several Catholic monastic communities settled here. In 2025, Steyl will celebrate its 150th anniversary. To this day, three religious orders remain active in the village. Take a walk past the impressive monastery buildings and pay a visit to the Mission Museum. Discover the pottery workshop, and unwind in the peaceful monastery garden or the lush botanical garden Jochumhof.


Shop till you drop & taste the good life
Take your time as you wander past the charming boutiques in the Festina Lente streets. Or head to Maasstraat, Vleesstraat and Lomstraat for your favourite high street brands. Even closer to the city, you can unwind in places like Julianapark or by the river at the Lage Loswal.
