In 1959 Toon and Mie Schreurs started Automatiek Piccadilly on the Kleine Beekstraat. The business is currently run by son Hans.
In the founding year 1959, father Toon invented the legendary chip egg: half an egg in curry ragout, breaded and fried in frying fat. Many have tried to imitate this culinary masterpiece, but no one has succeeded to date. It remains a secret family recipe.
